Passwords for external applications
External applications are email and other programs that you log into with your Mail.ru account: for example, Microsoft Outlook, a standard email application on a smartphone, a calendar on a Mac, and so on.

If you have two-factor authentication enabled and you want to enter such a program, you need to create a special password and enter it instead of the regular password and one-time code.

External applications do not include Mail.ru services: Agent, Cloud, Mail, My World. You do not need to create a separate password for them.

Create password for external application
Go to settings for two-factor authentication → "Passwords for external applications".
Enter the name of the app so you don't forget.
Copy the code.
Enter it when you first log into the application instead of your account password.
If your email program asks for a password every time you sign in, always enter that external application password instead of a password.
